Ordering
You can place your Seed Garlic or Bulk Culinary Garlic order several different ways:
- Our Online Garlic store (Open sometime in mid August)

- Or drop in to order or purchase and take with you. If you are going to drop in, it is best to call first and make an appointment to make sure we are here.
The most efficient way to ensure you are placed in our priority queue, is to call or email and per-order your garlic. Alternatively, you could leave us your email address by clicking on our newsletter sign up and we will email you with the date our online store will open.
If you are considering a large purchase of $500.00 or more, please call, text or email and we will discuss your needs, and consider the type, size and shipping cost of the order to provide you with our very best price.
Accepted Forms of Payment
Payment for your order can be made on our website securely by credit cards (follow the prompts on the checkout). You can also phone 236.785.2636 or email info@greatgarlic.ca to make other arrangements. We accept personal checks and e-transfers to info@greatgarlic.ca for orders. For your own security, do not email credit card info.
Garlic Varieties
One-of-a-kind garlic!
“Uncategorized” garlic are a variety that do not fit well within a defined heritage. Tibetan is one such garlic and in our opinion it’s a one-of-a-kind.
• Large bulbs with 8-10 cloves per bulb
• Rich, outstanding flavour
• Popular with chefs due to its outstanding flavour
• Storage of 4-6 months
• Cold hardy
• Likes heat
• Likes well drained soil; does not like over-watering
• Umbels generally produce 10-20 good-sized bulbils; 2-3 years to maturity
• Scape removal is recommended for optimal bulb sizing
• Loose skins; easy to peel
• Generally 5-8 cloves per bulb
• Rich, smooth flavour
• Stores extremely well; storage of 7-9 months
• Performs well in extremely cold environments
• Easy to grow
• Sensitive to dry conditions; soil should be kept moist throughout the growing cycle
• Umbels produce 100-200 very small bulbils (about the size of a grain of rice); 3-5 years to maturity
• Tall, vigorous plants => scapes can reach 6’ tall
• Scape removal is recommended for optimal bulb sizing
• White bulb wrappers
• Easy to peel
• 4-7 large cloves/bulb
• Stores well; storage life of 5-6 months
• Spicy, intense flavour
• Performs well in Canada and colder climates (cold hardy); requires cold exposure to thrive
• Easy to grow; dependable
• Scape removal is key to optimal bulb sizing
• Umbels ~40-60 medium sized bulbils; 2-3 years to maturity
• Do not over water in later stages; thicker stems take longer to dry
• Mid-season harvest; wait until 50% of the leaves are brown before harvesting
• Sweet when gilled or sautéed and baked
• Large to very large bulbs with purple striped wrappers
• Easy to peel
