On November 15th and 16th 2021 we experienced an exceptional weather event. Here in Greendale BC we are located in the Fraser valley on the lower mainland of British Columbia. We saw an unprecedented 220 mm or 8.66 inches of rain in a 48 hour period of time. There were floods and mudslides all around us. We had just recently finished planting our garlic all 42,000 cloves as well as 8,500 rounds and beds full of bulbils. As the rain poured down and the ground level water rose we could only watch and pray. Its all of our hands!

Atmospheric River – Great Garlic update. We are on a floodplain and so far we are safe. We can not say the same for some of our friends and fellow farmers. As the rain stopped the devastation all around was just beginning to be shown. As the hours passed by our field was drying up rapidly. The field grading and sloping as well as the drainage that was done prior to anything else was so evident and will keep our garlic crop in good shape! On the 3rd day after the rain started our field was drained…We thank God so far for keeping us safe, but wish to extend our help to anyone who needs it!
